A win for the Cubs is a win for Lafayette: Lafayette community rallies around Lafayette alum Joe Maddon as he wins World Series
With the win by the Chicago Cubs in World Series for the first time in 108 years. This win meant a little more especially for Lafayette College. For most Lafayette students, seeing as the Cubs’ manager Joe Maddon graduated from Lafayette in 1976 it was great to see an alum be so successful. Joe Maddon was an active member of the community during his time at Lafayette, he was a member of the varsity baseball team and participated in various other extra curricular activities. Around campus many students, Cubs fans or not, were excited to see the success of a Lafayette alum. With the recent rivalry week against Lehigh taking place Joe Maddon has decided to come back and host an event as well. It just goes to show that our athletes are once again giving back to the Lafayette Community.
