About a week ago a 5 day event occurred that is known as the Invictus Games. This year it was hosted in Orlando Florida. This international Paralympic-style multi-sport event was created by Great Britain's Prince Harry. This allowed wounded, injured, or sick armed service personnel and their associated veterans take part in sports such as wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing. The history behind the reason Invictus, is the Latin word means "unconquered, undefeated" the event was inspired by the Warrior Games, which is a similar event held just in the United States.

The first Invictus Games started in 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth Park in London, United Kingdom. Following the 2014 success of the Invictus game, 13 participating nations bid on where to host the games. Fortunately the United States won, fifteen nations were invited to participate in the 2016 games, which was held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt disney World resort in Orlando, Florida. During this time over 500 competitors competed in 10 sporting events as thousands watched and cheered on these heroes. The Invictus Games in Orlando took time to share the holistic recovery and rehabilitation that occurs through sport for the wounded, ill and injured service men and women.
